It appears that the COVID-19 pandemic is not going to be leaving us any time soon and as a result, both the state of Florida and the town of Ft. Myers Beach continue to update their regulations and requirements that all businesses and specifically, rental properties and timeshares, must follow. You will see the information that is current at the time we published this newsletter but we encourage you to always check the Florida governor’s website and the Ft. Myers Beach Town website to understand all restrictions and activities prior to your trip to our little piece of paradise.
A potential positive outcome of the pandemic is the incredible speed at which our lives became so “virtual” and digital. If you are, like me, not yet retired and still working, it is my sincere hope that you have been able to continue to work in a safe environment. For myself and all of the employees in my company – that meant we started working from home on Monday, 3/16, and it looks like we will be working remote through the end of the year – at a minimum. One of the results of this has been the increased usage of video conferencing programs like Facetime, Skype, and Zoom. As your Board of Directors, we too have gone to ZOOM for our Board meetings, and we hope that this change will allow many of you to participate where that was not possible in the past. The August meeting to be held on Monday, the 17th, is our 2021 budget meeting and we will be testing this notion of ZOOM open to all documented owners. The information for you to dial in is provided in this newsletter but I want to warn you in advance of some details. You must have ZOOM installed on your viewing/listening device (PC, iPad, Phone) and you must have a strong internet connection. We recommend that you do NOT use your video, instead, just the audio as that helps in bandwidth. Lastly – there is a password and you must be allowed into the room to participate. This means we will be verifying your name against the owner roster and so you will want to make sure that information is current. It will not be perfect 😊 but with your patience and feedback – this will become the way of the future as it will ultimately allow more participation for all owners – even when we are meeting together again on property.
It is the Board’s hope and prayer that you and your families have been able to stay safe, healthy, and of a positive mind. We look forward to the day when this year becomes the story, we tell the next generations of “remember when….”

RESORT MANAGER’S CORNER
Hello to the CBC family of owners,
To say the least, we are all experiencing a unique time in our lives. During the time the resort was closed, the staff was able to continue working. We started several projects to freshen up the outside areas. We painted the columns in the parking areas and the curbs. The lanai floors were also done and what a big difference a touch of paint can make! The walls inside and outside of the units were touched up as well. A deep clean was done to the pool chairs, lounges, tables, and walkway furniture for the reopening. The units were also deep cleaned using the EPA approved cleaners.
I have been given the opportunity to manage the resort and I look forward to working with Tricom and the Board of Directors to make sure you continue to enjoy every one of your weeks at CBC. My door is always open for suggestions or ideas to improve your quality of stay.
I would like to extend a warm welcome to Michele. She has a background in rental properties and works with beach vacationers. She has been a great addition to the staff. Come by the office and say “Hi” during your next visit.

CARIBBEAN BEACH CLUB CALL FOR RESUMES
The Annual Meeting will be held on October 26, 2020 at 1:00 pm (EST) via Zoom Meeting.
The Annual Meeting will be held for the purpose of electing directors and such other business as may lawfully be conducted at the meeting.
Subsequently, this is the First Notice of Meeting and Call for Resumes to those Owners who are interested in serving on the Board of Directors.
Board Members are elected for a two-year term. They attend a minimum of three (3) meeting each year, receive monthly reports on Association business, and collectively make decisions for the Association. Board Members must certify, in writing, that they have read the Association’s condominium documents and policies, will uphold the documents to the best of their ability, and will faithfully discharge their fiduciary responsibility to the Association’s members.
If you are interested in serving in one of the four (4) seats up for election, please follow the instructions below and return your resumes no later than September 11, 2020.
QUALIFYING FOR THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Florida Statutory Requirements for Candidate Information
“The Condominium and Cooperative Acts do not prohibit candidates from campaigning for election. Moreover, any candidate may submit a personal information sheet to the Association not less than 35 days prior to the election. This sheet may not exceed one side of an 8 ½” x 11” sheet of paper and may contain information describing the candidate’s background, education and qualifications as well as other factors deemed relevant by the candidate.
The Association must distribute copies of such sheets with the second notice of election. The information sheets may be printed on both sides of the page to reduce costs. If consented to in writing by the candidates involved, two or more candidate information sheets may be consolidated into a single page. The Association may not edit, alter or otherwise modify the content of the information sheet. The original copy provided by the candidate becomes the part of the official records of the Association.”
